متن کاملGb / s OTDM Networking using Deployed Fiber
We report a 160 Gb/s OTDM network comprising switching and demultiplexing through field deployed fiber. The 160 Gb/s signal was obtained by time-interleaving 16 channels of a 10 Gb/s signal. The add-drop node was realized by using a gain-transparent operation of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). A subharmonic clock recovery with a pre-scaled electro-optical phase locked loop employing an...
متن کاملInvestigation of the regenerative and cascadability properties of optical signal processing devices at high bit-rates
This thesis investigates the use of Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOA) for 10 and 40Gb/s all-optical 3R signal regeneration and wavelength conversion for application to advanced high-speed all-optical WDM networks. Detailed experimental characterisation of the magnitude and the time scales of inter band nonlinear effects in SOA is carried out. The regenerative properties of SOA gates are t...
متن کاملTuB 4 80 to 10 Gbitls Demultiplexing using Fiber Cross - Phase Modulation and Optical Filtering
Future ultra high bit-rate optical time division multiplexed (OTDM) systems may require all-optical demultiplexing to down convert high bit-rate data to e.g. 10 Gbit/s or 40 Gbit/s where electronic circuits can be used. Many suggestions of such demultiplexers have been proposed over the years. The most common device is the nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) that allows switching due to cross ...
متن کاملSimulation of Simultaneous All Optical Clock Extraction and Demultiplexing for OTDM Packet Signal Using a SMZ Switch
In this paper we report the simulation results of simultaneous all optical clock extraction and demultiplexing from 4x10 GHz asynchronous optical time division multiplexed (OTDM) packet signals using a single symmetric Mach-Zehnder (SMZ) switch. In highspeed OTDM systems clock recovery, the address recognition and the payload routing are all should be carried out in the optical domain in order ...
